About Our Instructors...
Todd Buchanan
Master Todd Buchanan has been practicing Martial Arts for over 22 years, including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Karate and Judo. Currently he holds a 5th Degree Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt in Taekwondo and has instructed for more than 13 years. In addition, Todd is an active sport competitor, competing nationally and internationally. Along with numerous State Championships to his credit he is a seven time U.S National Medalist and three time U.S. National Poomse Champion. As a former member of the University of Washington Taekwondo club, Mr. Buchanan trained with many elite national and international champions under the direction of Master Leon Preston, 7th degree black belt. Todd has also served as an assistant coach to the WA State Jr. Elite Team and State Jr. Team. Todd is currently training in Seattle and will be serving as the program advisor and team coach for Buchanan Taekwondo. He will offer many special training opportunities and seminars throughout the year.
Matt BuchananMr. Buchanan has also been practicing Martial Arts for over 21 years, including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Karate and Judo. Currently he holds a 3rd Degree Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt in Taekwondo and has instructed, refereed, and coached athletes for more than 17 years. For the past fourteen years, Mr. Buchanan is an educator at the following institutions: Spokane Public School District 81 in the area of Computer Information Technology, Oracle Internet Academy, and Digital Game programming (11th and 12th grade students); Past instructor for the Computer Information Systems program at Spokane Community College in the area of Computer Networking, Web Development, and Programming; former adjunct Professor for the College of Business and Public Administration at Eastern Washington University in the area of Management Information Systems As an educator, Mr. Buchanan is an advocate of Total Quality Learning and brings many valuable educational techniques into the Dojang. Some of these techniques include Continuous Improvement, On Task Performance, and Student Ownership which build confidence in all of his students and gear them toward personal success. Mr. Buchanan was the director and owner of the Olympic Martial Arts Center in the Coeur d'Alene/Hayden Lake areas for six years and has raised his family in the Spokane Valley for the past 23 years. All four of his children, Todd, Kelli, Loren, and Megan, have had extensive martial arts backgrounds in the area of Taekwondo which include three black belts and one red belt respectively.

Mr. Zachary Fitting, 1st Dan Black Belt, is currently an Assistant Instructor for Buchanan Taekwondo. A student at Central Valley High School in Spokane, WA., Zach has been practicing Martial Arts for the past 7 years. Zach assist in teaching child and adult classes.
